our Summer Courses have begun! First day of classes were Monday. The classroom door is locked until we have finished our daily chore. Monday Mop. Tuesday Toilet. Wednesday Washing. Then the door opens and we begin Writing. This week I have a question on the board with multiple true/false answers. We are working on confidence and penmanship. Then we share in a circle and use a pointer on the board. The girls love participating! Then we move onto free play. Set the timer and girls play and clean up. Then we follow our STEM & Specials schedule.
Monday – Science. We made paper airplanes and discussed aerodynamics. Then they went on a playdate and jumped on the tramp for Physical Ed.

Tuesday – Technology. We discussed technology vs. nature and all the technology that we use in our lives. Inventing Technology and Technology at school. We visited Grandma Joy at school and counted all her technology devices. Specials at the Library everyone checked out 20 more books and we signed up for the summer reading program. We also voted and talked about Technology voting ballots and politics.

Wednesday – Engineering. We made bridges using blocks, chains, math manipulatives, foam blocks, etc. then we watched Bob the Builder – Roads and Bridges.

Everyday we write and draw in our journals.

The goal is to have fun, build confidence, and love learning! So far we are A+ and perfect attendance!

We also started a ticket system. Great motivation and rewards for hard work, happy faces, and helpful attitudes.

The best part is when Gracie said a prayer about how much she is grateful for her new summer school and teacher, her mom! I was BEAMING!
